Green Myrtle Essential Oil

Green Myrtle is considered the sacred plant of the Goddess Aphrodite. Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of Love, Pleasure and Beauty. Aphrodite enjoyed dabbling in the love affairs of mortals, whether that was playing matchmaker or falling in love herself.

Myrtle (Botanical Name: Myrtus communis) has a sweet earthy aroma. The scent of Myrtle lingers and comforts us, melting disharmony.

The essential oil of Myrtle relaxes and sedates. This property also provides relief from tension and stress soothing us like a cozy blanket or a hug during hard times.

Myrtle is a gentle alternative to Eucalyptus with many of the same properties and benefits. Helpful for colds and flu, coughs, bronchitis, sinus infections and other respiratory complaints.

It is used extensively in religious ceremonies, including purification rituals and can be diffused while meditating to aid insight. This essential oil is said to carry a deep inner wisdom.
